I've just bought 2 of these after losing patience with King Kegs too. I used to have one of the budget pressure barrels and it always worked fine never had baf beer out of it. But I heard about how good King Kegs were and then by chance I had 2 donated from someone who had given up brewing. I bought all new lids, taps and fittings and for the first 3 batches they worked fine. Then I had pressure problems that were fiddly to resolve. Then I got problems with over pressurising and over carbonation. Then recently i've had no end of grief with a slow dripping tap no matter what I did so I bought a new tap and this was exactly the same so not i've given up and gone back to basics.

My advice from my experience with KK's would definitely be to leave alone unless you have endless patience and a fair bit of money as they seem over engineered and temperemental. The budget barrels do the same job and there's far less to go wrong (especially if there is CO2 valve on the cap).

That makes sence, also explains why the Cornelius kegs are so expensive... Looks like a minimum setup would be around £200??

Think I will stick to just adding sugar for the time being...

I have seen a youtube video on these http://sedexbrewing.com/. Look a good idea although far too expensive to buy from the UK. Does anyone know of anything similar but cheaper?

They look great but like you say too expensive for UK
