+1 for the Wilko turkey baster for taking a sample...BUT,don't leave it all in your bucket of sanitiser as it will eventually ruin the rubber bulb...the acrylic bit will be fine though.
 
My turkey baster was great for about 2 weeks and then the top fell off. If anyone is thinking of buying one i'd invest in a good one that is glued properly or even better a moulded one that won't fall to bits ha ha! :rolleyes:
 
I think that it's 1/4 of one of the provided measuring 'spoon' per litre of water for general cleaning. Always found that to work well

Ah, I didn't get a spoon with mine. Would that be about a teaspoon? Maybe 2?

Sorry can't check as I've run out, and the closest Wilko is in the next town and I've no 'essential' reason to go. I'd guess it's about 2 tablespoons sized 'measuring spoon'
