Where to get muslin??

Anyone know where the best/cheapest place for muslin is??

Muslin bags are 25p in our lhbs. Otherwise try textile shops or homeware shops like Lakeland I guess! EBay is always good too.

You can use stockinette, about a fiver for a roll from toolstation.

voile is widely used for biab samnorfolk, not sure about other materials but a net curtain made of that will be fine :thumb:

I use voile curtains from Wilkos for my BIAB bag. Not sure how the weave/hole size/permeability compares to muslin but think its fairly similar

I purchased muslin from a curtain/textile shop on the high st., and they said that I'd have to wash it out well first as there are chemicals in it - presumably to make curtains easier to make, or something. I just shoved it in the washer with a white wash. then afterwards sterilised in a bucket and rinsed before use.

Textile shop sold me mine at a fair price. Boiled and rinsed a few times to help remove the muck picked up during manufacturing. Organic unbleached muslin is probably the 'cleanest' option
