A couple of weeks ago. It was a Bevertown Tropigamma. Bloody gorgeous it was.
I often buy IPAs in cans, I've been told the can helps keep the hop aroma.
when was the last time you brought a can of beer
mine was today as I did not have any homebrew ready to drink
Ohhhhhh that is interestingA couple of weeks ago. It was a Bevertown Tropigamma. Bloody gorgeous it was.
Tetleys used to be a belting pint when brewed at the Leeds brewery, and was one of the most popular cask beers in the UK. But it has changed so much over the years and is probably now a shadow of its former self.
Sorry to be the grammar police.
But.........surely it should be "bought" (as in purchased) rather than brought (I came with)
I have edited it you old pedant.
.
Last time I had any Tetleys Bitter it came from from a can some years ago and it was nothing like the beer I used to drink in South Yorkshire years ago. Never again springs to mind!So would you not recommend it anymore?

As for the cask/keg stuff you can't get it in my area.
Tetleys Leeds brewery was shut down some years back so what is brewed nowadays ain't brewed in Leeds I'll bet.
Thornbridge have stopped their 500ml bottles and selling the 330ml at ã2.00 which is akin to tampering with a Toblerone in my book!

Once upon a time Tetley's was a truly staggering, masterpiece of a beer. The stuff they served at the Wheatsheaf in Barnsley was the finest ale in the whole Universe. Then they went and bulldozed the place to make a roundabout. I don't know what Tetley's is these days but it bears no resemblance (apart from being wet) to the Tetley of yesteryear. Anyways I wrote elsewhere of my disgust at what Guinness has transmuted into, so last week I got 4 tins of Mackeson to see if that had gone the same way. Nope - and still a jolly nice drop,if a little lacking in A.B.V.
