As I won't be brewing own until after Christmas I am relying on bought bottles. Tesco is doing 4 for £5, including Shepherd Neame 1698. At £1.25 a pop it is almost half price (and you get to use the bottle again). Might have another later with Dr Who!

Top pint for that money!

i'm emptying my last crate of Hertog Jan Pilsener, because i need the bottles for my first brew next week! :D

Only tiny 300ml bottles overhere in the Netherlands, so i need a LOT more then you guys :D

a glass of Dark Island....from the infamous Piddle Dribble brewery.... very nice.

Youngs ubrew lager whilst cooking dinner. Got a bottle of Marstons Pedigree chilling in the fridge to be drunk with dinner.

Went to Tesco's and decided to take advantage of the 4 for £5....again..... and stumbled across a cracker of a pint.....Wells Bombadier Reserve....masses of body and residual sweetness, vinous but not too cloying and dangerously easy to drink...if I could home brew this I'd be a very happy bunny :drink: ...I hope the Mc.Ewans id good :hmm:

I was lucky enough to get a bottle of Grey Goose Vodka and a bottle of Jack Daniels Honey from my daughters boyfriends, for my birthday......Whooo...hooo.

Have to agree, I too did the same at tescos and picked up one of these. A great beer. They have the standard stuff on cask all the time at my local but this one is far more admirable

Wednesday evening SWMBO and the two female offspring disappear in a cackling heap to go and do some weird dance thing (Zhoom -whatever the feck that might be). I do tea - on this occasion my renowned Sweet and Sour (secret sauce recipe available on request). Having identified a chronic shortage of cornflower (there was some more in a random cupboard but I didn't know that) I whizzed down to Aldi for a box.

I happened to peruse the beer section (as you do) and decided to pick a bottle to help the cooking process along. I espied Courage Best at 99p and realised I couldn't for the life of me remember when I'd last supped Courage Best, so I snagged a bottle.

Once poured I took a slug and was immediately transported back to 1983-84. South London, a grotty flat, a cracking local boozer (The Bell - RIP , pictures here http://www.derelictlondon.com/west--sou ... ondon.html) and a  ...ahem, rather well built and (very) accommodating young lady called Sarah (short pause for happy memories). Suffice to say I rather enjoyed my pint of CB and may well revisit the brew, along with my memories.

:( .so much for xmas cheer
off to Aldi!

A couple of Courage Best (see story above) and a couple of Brakespeare's - 99p a pop. Also picked up a bottle of gin for Chrimbo and a bottle of 'session' scotch for me and Mum to put away at the weekend while the old man has a hip replacement (seems a bit unfair to turn up and drink his whisky while he's laid up in 'opital)

Poured my first pint of Old Grumpy Git from the pressure barrel. Very nice and citrousy already will be better once its had another week or so in the cokd of the garage.

I have failed, no commercial beer in, nothing of my own ready to drink so its Vodka and cheap coke for me

There isn't a hanging head in shame emotiocon on here but if there was it would be here >
