What do you think of this as a FV?

That looks a decent piece of kit but worth a punt though if I was to purchase that I would be inspecting the internal weld quality and lid as these can be harbours for wee nasties but sure they can be polished out.
I would buy it but I don't need it as I have a 32l pot for brewing which I could utilise.

Thanks, as its mail order I cant inspect it prior to purchase of course though reading further it does say "
The structure is simple, and its inner and outer wall is smooth and stunning after the polishing, leaving no dead angle for cleanness."
So it leaves some hope, the other potential issue, at 500mm high it wont fit in a standard under counter fridge with the air trap fitted I guess

It's obviously a Chinese import, but what isn't these days? The layout and bad grammar and spelling on the write ups remind me of scam websites.
Doesn't look like a conical, think they might've just copied that from another website without knowing what it means. Can't see any reviews on the website which is also a red flag, although they are often faked anyway.

All that said it's a good price and nothing to say Chinese imports can't be good quality. Just make sure you inspect it well.

Replace the 'Bubbler' air lock with a 2 piece air lock and you'll save about 50mm.

hmmm, the more I research Vevor the more it looks like a scam. I think I am going to pass on this, thanks all for the input

There's a karlstein 25L SS fermenter for around £125.99, a little more pricey but it's from a fairly reputable company and sold through respectable websites. If you had a problem with that at least you would be guaranteed your money back or a replacement.

@fury_tea Yes that does look good, once again though it won't fit in a standard fridge, are there any easy alternatives to get a fermentation fridge with a bit more height as I haven't got mine yet?

Or to add to that, could I use a chest freezer, does the presumably faster cooling affect the use of a inkbird?

If you search larder fridge on eBay or gumtree you should get taller fridges. You can pick them up fairly cheap in good condition. Mine was 50 quid delivered from gumtree but you can get them even cheaper if you can pick it up yourself.

Chest freezer will work just fine with an inkbird, you may want a small usb fan in there for air circulation of its a tall and thin one, as they can have a bit of a difference in temperature (or at least mine does).

I wouldn't call that thing a conical. It's basically a tea urn with a clamp on lid. It may be an upgrade from a plastic FV but not much of a one. As it has a flat base I don't know how they can call it a conical.

Hi, yes I have moved on from that, I think it was a scam site, they also had conicals and I think it was a copy/paste error because they had a smaller version of the one above that did not say conical.

Vevor have a Facebook page - it's full of complaints! It is a US or Canadian phone number and the mailing address is incomplete. I won't buy online unless I see a physical address and UK phone number for customer service. I would avoid that company.

I agree, a UK address and phone number is an important requirement and I will be avoiding them
