MJ Juicy Session IPA, 500g DME and 600g table sugar, OG 1.054 fermenting in my broken beer fridge (compressors gone I think) still it's lasted me 15 years and just using it as a heating chamber at the mo', still have 2 others for cold crashing.

Double brewday today: 20 litres of IPA on my main kit, all pale malt to OG of 1.060, hopped with Citra, Cascade and Amarillo. Vermont Ale yeast.

On my stove top kit I did 8 litres of stout, not quite sticking to the forum Christmas brew recipe as I didn’t have the exact ingredients, but it’s fairly close and I have some cocoa nibs which I could throw in.

Kegged my attempt at @Galena best bitter :-)
Just don't tell him that I forgot the addition of hops at the hop stand

FG came down nicely over 5 days at 18ºC to exactly 1010, but I gave it a 4 more days to clear down a bit. I was very happy with the performance of the WLP013, although it hasn't (yet) dropped quite as clear as the SO4 I'm used to

Fancied something dark, malty and hoppy for these cold evenings that will be more common now.
Totally with you on that... hot Summer afternoons call for hoppy refreshing brews; damp Winter evenings call for dark malty brews.
Anyone tried mulled ale recently?

Edit: Almost forgot I added 80g of dark Candi Syrup too (I calculated 80g per 100ml when I made it)

Oh dear, I suppose you could dry hopping to try and compensate, I do hope it has some flavour . Mine bottled quite clear after 14 days in the FV, got two bottles ready to drink tonight in fact after the Old Hooky Clone I am currently drinking which has matured really nicely.

Just mashed in on a 4.9% pale ale, 75%chevallier pale malt, 12.5%imperial malt and rolled oats each. Challenger, fuggles and EKG to go in the boil and fermentation using CML Beoir
Into the fermenter at 1.045, 0.04 undershot due to less boil off than predicted as the pre boil gravity was spot on. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things

Finally got round to doing the myo strawberry and lime cider kit from the range.

@Nidger you need one of these ...

... and a £1 Turkey Baster from Tesco to draw the sample from the FV. (Luckily the "Turkey Baster Season" starts pretty soon.)

It also gives you a preview as to what the brew may finally taste like; but don't be disheartened if the first taste is terrible. Some of my best brews have started off tasting a bit "iffy" at the OG or FG stages.

Enjoy!

End of brew day, missed my OG by 1 point, missed my volume by 2 litres, reclaiming that in the fridge from the trub.

Some hop particles escaped from the kettle, not enough to have any concerns about.

Why we spend a day brewing, 700 ml of Ordinary Bitter, I wonder how the poor people spent their day?
