Great Vid @DaryllLand, and Lando is a nice Staffy, how long did it take from start to finish mate? the reason I ask is because I used to do AG (had the same as you a Brupak boiler) and it used to take me nearly a day all told.

Cheers Banneer! I think I started around 7/8pm. I’d definitely had a nap before I began so it was after 6pm for sure so let’s split the diff and say 7pm. I finished around Midnight but I do take time in between things to set up and video it all but still that’s 5-6 hours and my AG brews days before that were about 10 hours long! I reckon brew days will be around the 5 hour mark for me from now on but always gotta account for shooting the bits of video which draw it out a little. Once I get to the point of streamlining it all I wanna try two in one day! Dreams of making loadsa beer! Lol!
 
Couple of questions...
Did you sanitise the fruit?
Why didn't you use the pump to transfer the wort?

Hey Clint!

I washed the fruit before blending it and the FV was sanitised as well. I used the syphon because it was new and I wanted to lol! I’ll probably/defo use the pump to transfer next time as it will oxygenate the wort for me saving myself a silly dance with the FV in hand!
 
Had a monster of a day, 50 litres each of IPA and a Citrus IPA then 25 litres each of lemon and coriander speed wheat beer and a habanero & Mango IPA, all grain in 70 litre gas fired kit.......

....just need to be patient now, looking forward to the results though
 
21 litres of this:

3kg extra light dme
500g dwe
100g tettnang 20 mins boil and strained.
MJ's west coast yeast re-hydrated.

when fermented a 300g dry hop of Galaxy pellets. I might add a 100g of Cascade or Ahtanum if i'm feeling frivolous.

something tells me I wont be bottling 21 litres

Just bottled up a Kölsch that's been in FV for 3 weeks. Somehow ended up with over 23L of it so mighty pleased about that. The Tettnang and Saaz hop combo is going to be ace!
 
A test batch of an Abbot Ale clone I found on Brewers Friend. Grandfather with micro pipes worked well. It is bubbling away happily, fingers crossed will have something that tastes better than Abbot Ale ;) ...

That's a serious drop of beer for a 70 litre kit. Was it a full 24-hour day? Getting towards commercial levels! Perhaps we should all start collecting bottles for you for bottling day. :hat:

first night off so instead of sitting there feeling tired I decided to get off my arse and bottle the two batches I had in the garage...a pale and fox bat bitter...got 83 all in! Tired now but glad it's done...couple of mishaps along the way...knocked the bottling tree off the table and bust two prongs off it,broke the auto Syphon bucket clip and soaked the kids school uniforms...

If you were using S-04 there is no need to aerate the wort, Fermentis don't recommend it, even after 2 or 3 sessions reclaiming of the yeast. I am not a bio chemist so I don't know how that works, but I have also noticed a lot of the dry yeast manufacturers are now advising the same thing. Since I read about this I have not re-hydrated or aerated wort, even using Crossmyloof yeast and it takes off just the same. Good video by the way.
 
Was going to be a strong English Bitter, still is but not quite the 50 litres I was hoping for. First brew on the Brau Wolf. Yes it is the same as the Klarstein, Ace, Guten, Hop Cat, Brewster Beacon etc but this is a 60 litre made by a different company to the above.

For the first brew on an unknown SVB happy with the results.

pale ale with MO,crystal, aromatic,flaked barley and oats. Missed by og by 4 points..I've tried Using a foil sparge plate in the tun the last few brews and doing a gradual sparge. This has seen a repeated drop from my usual 70% to 66%...not the end of the world but a step in the wrong direction..
