The new albums from Bob Vylan and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard came out today are both very good on first listen.

Bob Vylan are very politically charged and mix hip hop, grime, punk and hardcore to give a pretty unique sound. I love them and think they are the most exciting band in Britain at the moment, but most of my mates think they are *****. Here’s one of the singles from the new album:

King Gizzard are genre bending psych rockers from Australia. This is their 20th album since forming in 2010, and is a mismatch of all the styles they have done across their previous albums - jazz, hip hop, psych-rock, prog-rock, thrash metal, pop. Bit of Tool for tonight's bbq. Invincible is one of the best metal songs released this decade, stripped right back to the basics, the last 4 mins are just epic. Guitar with a single note riff just rips it up with thr deep drums thumping away. Epic stuff. So powerful.
Danny Carey has to be one of the best drummers this side of Bonham or grohl.
