Not sure what section this should go under, just drinking a youngs double chocolate stout after seeing good reviews on beeradvocate etc, any one tried this? It's ok but I'm not sure what all the fuss is about, smells great, but its quite watery and not much of a chocolate flavour, very sweet.

Still, makes a change :drink:

Treated myself to 4 bottles from Morrisons for £5.50..... just enjoying Bombardier
Must be one of the best beers ever created. :drink:

Slowly getting through a barrel of Harvest Yorkshire Bitter, made it into a 32 pint brew instead of 40, big mistake too strong for me at 6.4% almost has a barley wine taste :( anyway, need the barrel for cider so needs must

May the God of mild headaches bless your soul... ;)

I know now that I am tempting fate in a BIG BIG way, but have yet to have a headache with HB beer or wine...feeling rough, drunk and tired in the morning but never headache... :D

Just started on the Growling Centennial, the big Hop Version, this one was dry hopped with 70g Centennial Pellets in 30 Litres.

I have 2 other cornies of this, one dry Hopped at 30g in 30 Litres, the other a mix of the 2.

This one is absolutely fantastic though.

I'm sorry to say it had been such a long week at work, I had dinner, drank one of the stouts and fell asleep, didn't get to see all the replies!

Will be making up for it later though, have some sort of BBQ/beer/cocktail party to go to, think I may take a 5 litre batch of tc with me from a good few months ago.

I may pop down to morrisons as well see if there's anything I fancy in the deal, I seem to remember buying raisin beer from there once which was quite nice.

Whenever I see posts on AG I always wonder just how much better it tastes? I'm really tempted to buy a set up, but I have no space for it all, and not enough knowledge :wha:

Water, that will probably be me until later tonight

I really liked the youngs double chocolate stout.

Recently discovered Brains dark and loved it!! Porters are a new found love of mine, and I don't know a huge amount about them to know if this qualifies as one, but it tasted, smokey, liquorice, coffee flavoured. Lovely!

Also had a bottle of Old Golden Hen the other night that sent my taste buds in to an orgasm! That's amazing stuff and if I could find a brew kit that made ale anything like that I'd be on it in a flash.

I just don't think it was my sort of thing, I got my hopes up on things after reading all the reviews. I will leave that one on the shelf from now on though.

Friday I will be down one of the locals and drinking the rev James and woodfordes wherry :drink:

I found double chocolate stout on tap in London on the weekend. That's the first I've seen that. It was even better than from the bottle.

I also made sure I paid a visit to The Harp in Trafalgar for a pint of Old Growler. Delish!!
