I had the misfortune to be given a 4 can pack of '12th of Never Ale' by Lagunitas Brewing Co. for Christmas.
I'm up for expanding my horizons and trying new flavours but sorry, NO, this was like some kind of awful Bud light /Turkish Delight hybrid.
No malt flavour to speak of, very pale, thin, flowery (as in potpourri), too much fizz, (reminded me of the Asti we had with Christmas dinner !)
Needless to say only one can was consumed and I had to resort to my other present, a 4 pack of Jaipur IPA, which although not quite to my taste, was infinitely superior to the Lagunitas effort.
Next year my list to Santa will specify 'No over hopped American beer' in bold type.....
Lagunitas is a subsidiary of Heineken. Say no more.

I'm all out of homebrew and a bit skint so it's 3 cans of life & death 3 for 5.25 at tesco and nicked the wives malbec, (tesco finest of course) Its a brew day so all is not lost I'll have beer in a fortnight or so.

Brahma. Fairly bland stuff but I'm getting through my kegged IPA far too quickly. I would like it to last longer than one week ffs.

i am actually drinking the most leggendary beer ever made, The Finkbrau pilsner from LIDL shops, wich is rated to be the worst metal-taste beer here in italy, i'm just drinking it, so i can get used to this incredibly bad taste, in order to have a complete overkill when i will drink my fresh homebrew after a 4 months of unactivty xDDD

Tonight my SMaSH brew is ready for drinking! but looking at it I think it could do with another week or two for clearing, but that doe's not put me off Gentlemen! I shall drink to you all never the less.... and here I present my bottle with naff label...

It actually tastes very nice indeed and I'm somewhat surprised about the very 'Honey', sweet taste it has, it's quite malty but hops not so noticeable. Bit disappointed that it has no head, not even when pouring. This came straight out of a very cold shed and I put in two Coopers carb drops for a cold beer. ~The rest of the batch which I'll drink room temp, have one drop each, wonder if there is much of a difference?

The recipe for this....
2kg Munich - Crushed grain base malt.
20 Grams of Fuggles Hops.
6 gram packet of yeast.
10 litres of spring water.

Simple stuff but not a failure by all means. :cheers3:

My Grapefruit Double IPA, brewed just after new year 8.14% malty hoppy fruity

Was in the supermarket earlier and picked up a bottle of BrewDog hop rocker for research purposes....yes,most acceptable. I'd describe it as a hoppy lager but using more pale ale type hops. It's cool fermented according to the label.

Had to come across to Edinburgh ! And had a couple of vouchers for free beer flights so free beer
