I'm had a Schneider Weisse Tap 1 - a hefeweizen. A little underwhelming.

I'm now sipping Brewdog's Get Out Claus, a Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout, at 8.2%. Really good, with a very slight chilli aftertaste.

I had the misfortune to be given a 4 can pack of '12th of Never Ale' by Lagunitas Brewing Co. for Christmas.
I'm up for expanding my horizons and trying new flavours but sorry, NO, this was like some kind of awful Bud light /Turkish Delight hybrid.
No malt flavour to speak of, very pale, thin, flowery (as in potpourri), too much fizz, (reminded me of the Asti we had with Christmas dinner !)
Needless to say only one can was consumed and I had to resort to my other present, a 4 pack of Jaipur IPA, which although not quite to my taste, was infinitely superior to the Lagunitas effort.
Next year my list to Santa will specify 'No over hopped American beer' in bold type.....

Bottle of Mr Pump's Braggot at the moment. Been conditioning for a LONG time now. A bit naughty style wise for a braggot, as I used Belle Saison yeast, and new world hops.... ;)

Duchesse de Bourgogne. I let the missus try thinking she would be disgusted and she loved it, she made me let her finish it off.
A jerk stout from Brick brewery, first beer I've had from them and I was well impressed smoked malt, lactose and "spices" I may send them an email see if they will give me the recipe.
And a Belgian ipa from buxton, I've had this before and it's spot on.

Well this afternoon actually, Opened my first All grain effort, only made 5 litres and added 2kg male malt, 500g Muscavado dark brown sugar and 100g chocolate malt, someone said it'll be pokey and it was but so lovely, real heavy mouth feel and high in alkie (10%) To my amazement it was quite highly carbonated but only used one coopers drop. Good head all down the glass. It was a very black beer.... and I'll be making some more!

[wife's watchful eye said my cheeks were rosy and eyes glazed] :laugh8:

Just done a short, three shift, completely dreadful, block. First back after Christmas...
It's safe to say that dry January has left the building....

Just draining the free beer out of a few Grolsch bottles.. Dry January was never gonna be a thing.

Coopers Cerveza! Brewed 9th Dec / Bottled 16th Dec! 4.6% and going down nicely! Cheers!
