Just had a pint of an ale I kegged last night and force carbed about 5hours ago.Its very nice and I`m going to have another 1 now.Off in the caravan tomorrow for the long weekend and I`m going to take the keg and gas with me.

Lervig/Magic Rock, Farmhouse IPA last night. Juicy, hoppy citrussy & slightly bitter IPA with a subtle, but present, funky bretty spicy yeast flavour. Really liked the balance. It was definitely IPA first, brett/funk second.

yesterday a sadlers hop bomb from home bargains. not bad at all but not one of my commercial faves and easilty beaten by my ipa hb imho. Then .....

75cl again, but not that impressive. it's perfectly drinkable but more a middle of the road effort. and NOT very ipa'ish.

might have to pinch a sleighed in belguim to make up for it :-)

Simply Yorkshire Bitter, John Bull IPA, three bottles of Abbot, and my "Night Night" Simply Stout 9%...........Night night.

Currently drinking the penultimate bottle of my black IPA. It is a sad day as it has developed really nicely after not being sure about it to start with.

Whilst I was bottling my latest brew, I had some of Eden Brewery's (or Eden Mill as they are called now) 19th Brew.

Now I'm watching Ink Master and drinking my cascade SMaSH. It's still a bit bitter and lacking hop aroma/flavour but it's mellowing nicely.

I've had a lamentable (beer wise) evening in the pub, where I've drank four different bitters which were all rather average and indistinguishable from each other.

They were:
Youngs ordinary
Youngs London gold
Sam brooks wandle
Something else I forget what it was but it was a youngs beer billed as 'intensely spicy', but was about as spicy as my ****.

Frankly they were all a bit forgettable. I'd have had a pint of any of my own beers over these, any day.

Yet they were all nearly £4 a pint.

We're being had

I assume this wasn't a post-curry trip to the pub!

Ha, no. That was definitely the description of the beer. It wasn't very spicy at all though. The four beers were disappointingly similar and in-interesting

Be prepared to pay even more for Youngs beer as it was announced yesterday that they are adding 10p to a pint to cover the recent 'living wage' price rise
