Had a couple of pints of North Cotswold Brewery's Hung Drawn and Portered, which was possibly the nicest porter I've ever tried, absolutely superb. Quite well hopped with Bramling Cross. I was very impressed. Also had a couple of pints of Blue Bee Brewery's The Geek Awakens, which was an American Pale, hopped with Mosaic. I enjoyed it, but a bit grapefruity for my palate. Tried a bottle of Blackjack Brewery's Dragon Tears Jasmine Saison... Jesus, it was brilliant. Not something I could drink much of, but incredible flavours... very dry though.

Currently sat in Buxton tap house sampling petty much everything they have on tap. The other half has had enough and gone shopping with the kids leaving me to peruse over the beer menu. Found my new favourite there extra stout is bloody lovely, deep dark and malty jusrt right at this time of year, with snow on the ground.

Very envious!

A Ballast Point Sculpin I brought back from a recent trip to the US. Lovely beer. The grapefruit version is pretty amazing too.

I'm not a big stout drinker, but just cracked open a bottle of Salted Caramel Milk Stout from Fallen brewery. Bloody lovely!

You should give the Millionaire by Wild Beer a go too. Sounds similar. Best stout (non-imperial) I reckon I've ever had.

Nowt until the wide gets home as am on child duty but will be knocking a bottle of Pedigree down once she is...

Thanks for the recommendation, went into my LHBS/craft beer store, but this was the only Wild Beer one he didn't have. Said he would get some in for me.

I'm drinking a twist on 'HisDudeness's' APA, and what a cracking number it is.

An untraditional best bitter. Lovely malty sweetness balanced superbly with bitterness, nice citrus overtones and even some fruity hop notes as it warmed. Perhaps a slightly thin mouthfeel for the style coming from a can, but I imagine on cask this would be one of the best best bitters around.

Tonight's delectation shall be Buxton Tsar followed by a few Tesco Finest Double IPAs and then rounding off with William Bros Double Joker DIPA.

I am quite looking forward to it!

Have you had the Cloudwater DIPA v2?

I have, just last week in fact! A nice spicy grapefruit offering, masked the ABV very well. Accomplished beer, i must say, but not my favourite (if you're talking favourite DIPA it's Buxton Two Ton followed closely by Buxton Wyoming Sheep Ranch).
