Mmmmm had a few pints of my beerworks kentish bitter, only about 5 left. So thought it's needed to sample a bottle of Mersey dockers ipa.
Tasted and checked my coopers ipa tweek. Nelson sauv and amarillo with light malt. Down to 1016 in a week. Really good.
 
Tonight I was drinking twickenham grandstand at pub in surbiton. Frankly as a Welshman I should be ashamed of myself.

It wasn't wonderful but I couldn't face five pints of youngs bitter again
 
Have had a lager from the garage, no idea what it was. Possibly a coopers pilsner. Then three HBC extract APA. Have to say, despite my earlier reservations an starting to like this. Then a Grolsch (£1.50 from Tesco swing top bottle) then a wee bottle of Youngs AIPA. That's quite enough for one night folks.
 
Tried a bottle of my Belgian blonde. Lovely tasting but still needs a few more weeks conditioning. Lovely colour and clear taste of the Styrian Goldings. Nice alcohol taste but not too overpowering. A little under carbed but the head laced down the glass right to the end. Could be my best AG yet.
 
Started with a glass of own recipe bitter and followed that up with a glass of own recipe mild.

The bitter was bottled only 9 days ago so it is still a bit rough around the edges but it is clearing nicely.

Had a load of ace beers over the weekend. I won't bore you with the details, but I will say that if you get the chance to try Beavertown Spresso then grab it with both hands. Possibly the best beer I've ever had. It's an Imperial Espresso Stout clocking in at 9.5% - not that you can taste the alcohol aside from a comforting rising warmth. Thick as tar, full bodied with bags and bags of blakc espresso and dark (like 90% dark) chocolate bitterness. Huge but impeccably balanced. Absolutely amazing!

Other highlight was popping into the new (and only) craft beer bar in Wolverhampton that's just opened. Owned and run by Slater's from Stafford. There's 10 cask lines and 10 keg. About 60% Slater's, mostly on cask along with the usual suspects from Holdens, Bathams and Sarah Hughes. Very nice selection for that real ale crowd, all about £3.10 ish per pint. It was the keg lines that I was more interested in really. The most appealing being Cloudwater, Black IPA and Left Handed Giant, USPA.

So good to have beer and breweries of that level available on tap in Wolves! There was a lot of choice on keg actually - seemed a bit scatter-gun however, as if they didn't know what would sell well. An ESB, APA, BIPA, Kreik, Blegian, Wheat, Bock etc. Hopefully they can focus in on a few different styles and offer some more choice from the ace new craft brewers in the country.
 
I picked up a few pints from a local brewery this afternoon. Scratch (Amber Ale) and Tomcat (Pale Ale) from Red Cat Brewery, in Winchester.

Both very good and fresh as a daisy, putting my efforts at brewing into perspective! I have much to learn!

Aaaaahh, another Hampshire member, good to see. Brilliant brewery that one, their 'Prowler Pale' is superb, certainly worth looking out for but as you say so are the other two mentioned. :thumb:

There are a good few Hampshire based brewers on here! I like all of their beers I've tried.
 
Currently sat in Buxton tap house sampling petty much everything they have on tap. The other half has had enough and gone shopping with the kids leaving me to peruse over the beer menu. Found my new favourite there extra stout is bloody lovely, deep dark and malty jusrt right at this time of year, with snow on the ground.
 
Just off climbing. When I get back it will be my triple bridge, my sloe gin and someone else's vodka....
 
Off out to Preston tonight. The New Continental always has a good selection of cask and bottled beers. They've got that Blackjack Dragon Tears jasmine saison that I'm looking forward to sampling. Also Three Boys Porter that I've not had before. I'll dilute the strong ones with a couple of pints of Bowland Hen Harrier.
 
There are some really good spots Joe, a new is opening any time now as well that looks to be totally focused on craft beers. If you're up, let me know and I'll give you some recommendations.
