An odd bottle of bitter I had lurking around. Going by my notes this was made with just light DME and hopped with Fuggles. It’s a little past it’s best but still more than drinkable.

At a barby today to watch the footy Grand Final, drinking Pacific Ale comparing the Stone and Wood version and my own the colour is a fair way off and mine has more body. The hop addition went in at 20 minutes (Galaxy) next time it will be 10 minutes mine has a slightly bitter edge. Mine is on the left.

A few curries left to be had from that carcass.

Decided to give making my own Negroni a try, and got some Vermont and Campari on today’s Tesco order (Gin is the bottle from Aldi I’m not really much of a gin drinker). I didn’t mess around and just kept to what seems to be the classic ratio of 1:1:1 and a dash of bitters. And yes I reckon I didn’t do to bad a job of it for a first try.

A nice Merlot heavy St. Emilion Bordeaux,

Not bad at all. Hoppy and a bit on the fizzy side which gives a satisfying thick feel. Also grels above its 5%. Logo takes you back to Inde Coope days.

A bit thin but the bitterness is on point.
