This is my latest creation a 5% ABV part grain bitter. I bottled it on Halloween so with apologies to Hook Norton I have named it Old Spooky. Not bad at all but it's still a bit young.

Having my 3% lower ABV beer while I stand at the hob making rice pudding for afters. It's a bit overly-bitter and ended up like a west coast IPA. Not undrinkable though, in fact it should pair quite well with the Thai red curry I'm making later

Having a curry tonight so GEB’s Itilian Pils seems a good place to start. It’s really good. Bigger bready malts than I expected, lovely floral/herby hops. I’ll be buying this again.

My Kent Golden Ale, decided it needed a name to more reflect its provenance. So not Exmoor clone any more.
The hops are Challenger for bittering from Hukins of High Halden,
then East Kent Goldings from over the road from me in Willesborough Lees,
and lastly whirlpool with Prima Donna from my own garden.
Not totally clear yet, but malty rich and hoppy.
Yes, I like.

Yeah, I agree on the carbonation, Under cooked it a bit... Next batch has more gas.
I hate too-fizzy beer but this was a bit low.

Taste of this Pilsener I brewed using Novalager for the first time fermented at 14c, kegged two weeks ago after a month in primary.
Bittered with Northern brewer, late boil and flameout additions with Saaz.
Thought I'd give this yeast a try but next time I'll go back to their Diamond yeast.
Got another pack I'm going to try fermenting warm in a Cali Common or pseudo lager.

That sounds good, I had to look up Prima Donna, didn't realise that it's another name for First Gold.

The better half bought me a couple of beers from Home Bargains the other day. First one, Virginia Beer's 'Saving Daylight'. I wasn't expecting much at all from these, but this one's OK. I'm getting orange pithy aftertaste (it does say that orange peel has been used) and the mouthfeel's quite good. The more I'm drinking it, the more i like it. I'd let the wife buy this for me again.
