Now on the Czech 🇨🇿 style pilsner. This is what you need on a day like this. It's soothing my tan lines after a few hours on the beach

Witbier only filled the last bottle half way up. The squeeze test on the PET bottles implies it was fairly well carbed up, so opened up the half full bottle. Not quite fizzy enough, so the rest will get another week before opening it up.

Tastes delicious though, and will definitely be ready for the summer swap

Shame I missed the last of the sun as it went behind the trees

The best I've found (SO far) here on Spain- from the Mahou webshop, of all places!! Very refreshing, flavoursome pale, from independent Nomads Brewery!! 12 bottles ain't gonna last long, but I've just kegged my first (kit) brew, MJ's Kviek, and it smells very romising. Give it a few bursts of 40psi and sample later this evening!! Happy Weekend all!!

What part of Spain you in ?
We for fuengirola on wed and I see there is a few good craft beer bars opened since I was last there including a Belgian one 👌

Drinking in your shorts...this wind is a little fresh for that in the Kentish land
It’s “tops aff “ weather in the north of Ireland
Ps. How do we know @Alastair70 has any clothes on at all 😎
He could have those budgie smugglers on again. Damm things sent me to see a therapist.

Starting the night with a guest Belgian pale from @Benfleet Brewery .

This one is somewhere near a traditional Belgian pale but has a slightly higher yeast and hop character.
Low-medium carb, decent head on pouring. Slight Banana and spice aroma.
Easy drinking , smooth , medium bitterness. Clean no astringency or off flavours 👍🏼
More yeast forward with some nice spice flavours from the hops.. mildly fruity/spicy with a touch of banana. Nice pale👍🏼

Any more of your auld 5hit3, and I’ll post a photo of the rear view😡😡

Dearg, @Alastair70's Irish Red. (I should have put some Horslips on to drink it to).

Thanks, Alastair.

Bottle opens with the always tempting and reassuring hiss.

This has been in the fridge since I received it, but got it out a couple of hours ago to warm slightly.

Colour is beautiful (unlike my camera skills). Looks a dark amber but when you hold it up to the light you get the copper tints coming thorough. Decent head which sustains throughout the glass.

Aroma is predominantly malty, with some toffee coming through at the end. There is a slight mineral note which I can't quite place

Flavour-wise, caramel and toffee are there in abundance. It is a sweet beer, but the bite of bitterness stops it from becoming overly-cloying.

Onto mouthfeel, carbonation is spot on for the style. The sweetness turns dry and refreshing and there is some warming in the jowls from a slight alcohol note

Overall I think this is a good representation of the style, I really enjoyed drinking it and would happily have it again.

Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it. Your review fits very closely with my own thoughts.
There’s around 6% crystal malt in this brew, I might pull it be a touch for the next one. I went with the 6% because that’s what was in last years LAB entry that got an honourable mention.
