The neighbours I helped by trimming their hedges and trees came round with a small thank you.

I’ve had a couple of small glasses. The whisky is better than I expected and the honey flavour works quite well. I’d still prefer my beloved Talisker Skye but this is a nice, and unexpected, reward for a couple of hours work.

Looks great! What’s the OG ?
Burtonwood dark mild brewed from an old recipe
1.037. It was a little too bitter. I think the hops they used in the past were not of the consistency of today. I’m about to make a version 2. I tested it in my father in law whose 87 and from buttonwood and he said it’s taste feel etc was similar. I used to drink it in the 80s before the brewery closed

You brew a fine looking pint, @H
Thanks TETB! It is nice but I prefer my regular bitter made with goldings and fuggles. This is one I brewed using hops I won in a competition and as I had no recipes that use Admiral or Phoenix I thought I’d try them in a bitter.
