A wonderful lambic style ale aged in Chardonnay barrels for 2 years and you can taste the wine along with that classic lambic funk. A single barrel release from Otterbank brewing co in 750ml bottle at just €10 and 8.2% the best beer he has done in my opinion and no label on the bottle as it’s only for sale if you know to ask for it

Where can a Derry man pick one up 😁

Trying a Brewdog Shore Leave as it was on offer in Tesco £4 for 4 cans. Keep wanting to call it Adnams as it sounds very Adnams nor does it taste like a typical Brewdog ale. It's ok, pretty decent amber ale, could drink a lot of it

A bit of feedback on yesterdays post, i enjoyed the the Badgers but as my taste buds are not what they used to be i got SWMBO to see if it was as described on the label she said definitely in fact she said it tasted sweet at first then a little bitter after which is the first time she has ever described a beer so accurately.

I like Badger beers but they can often be a little bit underwhelming compared to the big flavours that are trendy now. Haven't had that one though so that's going on the list of beers to try when I see it

The Fullers is 3 or 4 SRM points lighter than the Bishops Finger, is bitter-sweet, feels thin in comparison, and is more biased towards hops than malt. I think I prefer the Bishops Finger.

On to the Adnams, darkest and strongest at 6.3%…

Edit: OK, that didn’t take long. This is my least favourite of the bunch. The bottle describes rich fruit cake but I’m not really getting that. I am getting a subtle plastic aroma though and although it’s barely noticeable it’s really putting me off. It puts me in mind of drinking water from a plastic bottle that’s been on the car dashboard in the sun.
