American Amber, kindly sent to me by @matt76, and poured during half time. Brilliant job . Loads of caramel aroma and flavour with just enough chocolatey roast to balance the sweetness and dry out the finish. Thanks for sharing it, it’s helping take the edge off a very tense game

So me and Jimador are sharing my last bottle of Tripel. I was waiting for the scoresheets to come in so we could try to get from the beer what the judges got. Have to say I'm impressed at their knowledge and skill.

This was my first comp and I scored 32 points. I'm more than happy with that score for my first go. Will try to step it up for my next one though!

What's it like John. Seen them in Gee's

It’s very complex. Lots of malt taste followed up with a big bitter hop hit and then finishes very boozy. Nearly flat and 1 is enough.
I got it up the port for £3.50

I like TT Landlord but have never seen the dark version i will have to see if i can get it here.

Another dark beer before I try something that looked very interesting - a 750ml corked and wired bottle of 7.9% Celebration Ale hopped with Sorachi Ace and Equanot. Looking forward to that one.

I bought it in Sainsbury's. It’s a more roasty version of landlord, somewhere between a dark mild and a porter. Quite light bodied but has nice flavour.

Thanks Matt. I might reduce the mash time a bit but looks interesting. I use Spotless water so should be able to hit the profile. Going to add the ingredients to my next shop.

Second of my Turkish beers.

Not clear to me if I shake or avoid shaking the bottle. Nice frosted glass effect.

This was the locals beer pick over efes but they needn’t have been so fussy it is very similar. Weird sort of taste on the palate that is generally fruity.

This is the beer that caught my interest in Sainsburys, cost was £4 I think. It has that mildly herbal piney vibe you get from Equanot hops along with lemon and orange citrus underpinned by slightly sweet malt and alcohol and with a dry finish.
