Went out for a pub lunch at the Command House where they had a small selection of cask ales. I had a couple of each , enjoying the views out over the river Medway, and now home again enjoying a glass of my Pirate Pale.

Ah The Command House. Many a Friday and Saturday evening spent in there when I was at college (they used to be known for turning a blind eye to serving 17 year olds). Good to see the beer is better than John Smiths Smooth or whatever it was I used to drink.

And a 10.5% Imperial 'Long Levers' to finish. Syrupy.

This is my own Belgian Blonde. It’s a little more dry and has more Belgian character than La Chouffe. I of course like both and would struggle to choose a favourite but if pressed I might say La Chouffe is a little more clean tasting?

I’ve added Bratwurst sausages and Senf to my beer. Bloody heaven! 😍
