Really complex and lovely beer, dark fruit and really strong Brett. I need to make this again

Hello! Hello!

What a lovely day it’s been. I’ve been working in the garden again today and decided it’s time to stop for a beer while the sun is still bright and the day warm.

English Bitter in the sun

@Hazelwood Brewery thanks for the beers. I thought it would be best taste side by side.

There was a clear winner with me and SWMBO picking the same one.

Appearance- 1st version. I think if you are making a fruit sour it should be murky just like if you added fruit to it. The clearer one reminds me of Swedish cider.

Aroma - both the same, could really tell them apart.

Mouth Feel- prefer the 1st version, just seems to be a bit thicker and higher alcohol content feels better in the mouth.

Flavour - 1 version. Tastes more sour and lot more fruiter. I would even say I could handle more of it. The second one had a funny artificial taste to it, which seemed more prominent in the froth, which you can see is a different colour and lot bigger.

Two great sours but I personally like them fruity and sour so the 1st version wins.

This is punchy at 8.5% , but it’s given me a needed lift after nursing a self inflicted headache and giving the grass it’s first cut .. Cheers all

Now on a can of Aldi’s Elvis Juice at 6.5% it’s really good and I’ll buy more for sure.

The beer is an Oatmeal stout (CML grain kit) the chicken is marinated in soy sauce, coriander, some garlic and a wee bit of palm sugar (will serve with salad rice and a sweet chilli sauce) not a conventional Sunday roast but tasty non the less. Happy Sunday all

Columbus American Amber ale, I like this style a lot. Near the end of the keg and in it's prime but about to make
way for my latest AIPA with Centennial.
