English bitter to start tonight. Happily (for me) we’ve finished all our shopping, both pressies and food, and all the pressies are wrapped. Time now to chill and enjoy Christmas 🥳. Cheers!

Officially done with work until the new year so after a long arduous commute home (via the stairs I love home working) and a quick trip to the garage for a bottle of Saison made with Saaz and Aurora Hops (grain bill is Pilsner malt with about 5% Carapils) as well as some honey, which comes through surprisingly strongly. All in all it’s just a nice dry tasty Saison, still amazes me we don’t see more commercial Saisons.

Snap! Finished most things like shopping, food and present wrapping, now just got to finish my house cleaning but I'm doing that tomorrow. In the meantime I'm having this! 😁

I'm chomping at the bit...gotta take the misuse to the shops first though..for food..even though I did it all today! Suppose a few more light refreshments may fall into the trolley!

Feeling human again so I've poured myself @samale Belgian Brett Saison with some trepidation as I'm not keen on brett'd stuff usually. This though was decent, a nice lemony (generic citrus) aroma, looked golden, a bit hazy, nice head and well carbonated. Tastewise, found it quite peppery, zesty. Mouthfeel, dry, perhaps a little thin but fine. Overall I didn't get much Brett which is a good thing for me, otherwise I've enjoyed it, perhaps would have enjoyed it more in the summer though! 😄

Guest beer No.1, a Swartzbier kindly sent to me by @dave_77. Held to the light it’s a deep amber colour and clear as a bell. It’s clean, dry and light to drink. Overall, it’s well balanced, bready malts stand out with a very restrained roast malt character in the background. Any bitterness is coming from noble flavoured hops. It’s a great brew, I haven’t had a go at this style yet. I was planning to brew a Vienna next week but might change plan after this. Cheers mate 👏👏
