Now in from the garage, the very last drop of the Mongrel ale still coming through the first coffee filter.
Strange how it's clearer than the previous pint I had, which first came through the same filter and then through another new paper.
I put it down to pore bunging-up of the original one, so it filters-out better.
Isn't a little bit of bucket science a wonderful thing?
(i.e. me and home brewing to a 'T' ! ).
Bye bye Mongrel ale. 😢

Mrs is out with the girls tonight so I'm kids.duites tonight and tomorrow morning from 7am so not sure why I'm going in for another stout. @Leon103 beer has got me in the mood.
Had the original standard carbed version of Siren Breakfast stout. This Nitro 440 can is really nice too.

I can't tell you how much a breakfast stout appeals acheers., it appeals.

You need to brew some beer Chippy_Tea!

I have wine on the go all the time which we both enjoy (SWMBO doesn't drink beer of any type)

To make beer I would have to use the stove so steam would be an issue as the cooker is a long way from the window i also don't have any heat control or room for it so that would be another issue, i don't smoke (gave up ages ago) or go to the pub often so i consider buying beer my treat i know i could make it cheaper but could i make it better.

When my lad leaves home and i have more space i might just try it.

There's some great kits out there! No steam involved.

Selection isn't great is it. Going to try the new walled city tap room before Christmas.
I was there a couple of weeks ago. I won't be back. Guy working behind the bar didn't even know how to pour a pint (and it's possible he is the bar manager). Girl working was one of the most disinterested looking person I have ever seen. They had about 12 to 15 taps. 5 were their core range, a nice coffee stout, a horrible imp stout, a red ale and the rest were lagers.

My GF was poured the wrong drink. She was then given a generic white wine that tasted like it was diluted. I didn't even finish the imp, it was shyte. The sort of beer, if you made it at home, you'd be disappointed with it.

What were the prices like Phil ?

Had an amazing IPA from Lidl called US of IPA today (forgot the picture). Nice and bitter with toffee malt and big notes of marmalade. Incredible for only 99p. Next I had a Citrus City Orange Pale Ale from the same brewery. Oddly less orange from this beer than the IPA, still not a bad beer and even cheaper at 89p.
