Next beer is American Amber from @Alastair70 , 6 % Abv.

I do like American Amber's, got one cold crashing at the moment so looking forward to trying this one.
Great looking beer...copper and crystal clear with medium Carbonation and decent head that stayed until the end of the pint .
Aroma was definitely on the malty rather than hoppy side. Bready with a toasty character.
Flavour from the malts is similar to the aroma with bready, toasty and maybe a mild spice like you get from rye. The hops flavour I would say was pine and spice that goes well with the malts. Definitely more malty than hoppy for me.
Medium bitterness, nice and smooth so really easy drinking for a 6% beer.
If I was being picky for my taste I would want a little more hop forward, very good beer all the same.

Yeah it doesn’t smell off, just sour. If I’d have known it was a Belgian sour I wouldn’t have bought it. It’s a bit much for my tastebuds in these early stages of my belgian career 😬
I had a quick Google but can't find any mention of it being a sour...could it be very tart cherry?

That’s the only reasonable explanation. Like I said higher up though, I didn’t know sour cherries were that sour. I definitely won’t buy again. Or from that shop. Boo. I’m quite disappointed ☹️

I didn’t think of that! 😂

Nope it’s in date. It says November 2023.

I didn’t know sour cherries were that sour lol. It didn’t say anything on the website or the bottle though about it being sour. Very misleading and I may have to complain.
Reddit says you are in for a poor night.

There are reviews on untappd saying it's sour.

Personally, the fact it says cherry puts me off. I love cherries but "cherry", when put in beer, without exception tastes like cough sweets and they can all go to hell where they belong, taking up space in Satan's fridge.

Ok could someone help please? I don’t want to be poorly tomorrow but the beer I’ve just shared is sour once I’ve got into it. Does anyone know if it’s supposed to be sour? Although I know you can get sour quads, I wasn’t expecting this one to be one. 😕

I also noticed the listing for this beer disappeared off the website straight after I’d bought it, which makes me think it’s the last one and possibly old.
I've just checked on Untappd. It seems to divide opinion. Some 4.75/5 reviews and some 0.25/5. A couple of the bad ratings describe it as very sour and like a bad wine.

BBE dates on Belgians may not be helpful as some (Trappist and very strong ales) have very long BBE dates which can be 5 years or more - some of the beers improve after the BBE dates.

Not as harsh on the tongue as I remember it from years ago. Still nice though.
