I wonder about honey in a beer. I put a jar of orange blossom honey in a SAISON and could only detect a subtle taste.
I have it in my Belgian Tripel and it adds a smoothness to the beer, maybe a hint of honey. This beer was different so either they used an awful lot at the end of fermentation or it was a flavouring. It wasn’t nasty but it was too much for me.

Had a NEIPA brewed by Hall and Woodhouse today, which was Ok but the can I got in JS by some northern brewery knocked this out the park
Sorry no pics
I think JS are doing a promotion on "craft brewers" at the mo - some interesting stuff
There u go - you heard this first here

I've used honey a few times; mostly in Belgian beers and I have to admit I can't ever detect any honeyness. I put it in the boil at the end, apparently you get more honey taste if you lob it in the fermenter, but I've never had the nerve.

First make sure it is real honey! There is a tish load of fake honey coming out of China and India. Keep the honey hot in in simmering water for an hour, it will darken but it is highly fermentable so you should get some flavour from the blossom. Try Australian Red Gum that taste really comes through.

Coffee in a keep-cup.

1 heaped spoon of Aldi's American instant.
Topped up with boiling water (no water additions)
Stirred approx 10 times clockwise.
Neither milk nor sugar.

Decent drink

Tonight I am trying my IPA (English) in an AIPA glass, the heavy hopping with Super Pride which I was worried about is diminishing, praise the lord. Just back of the tongue bitterness and not as harsh as Pride of Ringwood. Phew.
Second was a long neck of my Antipodean Bass. Both beers are crackers just have more work to do on my Old Speckled Hen clone.

I had this a few weeks ago and had a similar thought, H. On the one hand, I liked the fact a 'honey' beer had a honeyed taste as so many don't. On the other hand, I wasn't sure I liked it!

I think it’s true with a lot of ingredients that barely being able to taste it is about the right level - cardamom, coriander, honey, molasses, rosemary, etc. are great in the background but can spoil a great beer if overdone.

It's negroni time. Jesus this is pure alcohol. Forming a bit of a pattern.
Beer in the morning. Cocktails post lunch and then a few beers in the night. Now that I have adapted to the time zone I should be able to add a couple of night caps to that.

For now a negroni. Vodka lemon slush maybe needed later.

Love a Negroni myself.
But the benchmark for all cocktails for us is the Long Island Iced Tea.
Bizarrely the best I've had on holiday was in a market in Ranong N.W. Thailand, probably cost a quid!
