Refreshment break on a post work walk. Badly timed as the rain has just started falling. Strange (nice) glass for a Proper Job. But the Jobs a goodun...

Happy Friday Folks!

If it was delivered by Herpes (*) then good-luck with any complaint!

By accident I discovered that they had delivered something to me by “Leaving it in a safe and secure place.”

The delivery was a day earlier than stated and the “safe and secure place” was my doorstep - in full view of anyone passing along the street!

They mayhave changed their name but not their systems!

(*) Like Herpes, the company has a reputation for delivering bad news!

I like the old joke
#1: I say, I say, I say,
The Doctor just told me I've got Hermes;
#2: Don't you mean Herpes?
#1: No, definitely Hermes;
He says I'm only a carrier!
(I suppose this could be modified for this thread to:
'He says I'm only a courier!'

On to more serious matters... Beer.
What's this? Another pouring of my Pilsner from the cubitainer with a head and condition?
Just to safely release the dangerous pressure you understand Mr H. 😉
I said last night it didn't appear to have changed the flavour, but now I realise it's less rich and more dry.
Yes... last Friday's observed haze was a tertiary fermentation!
So that's cleared away now leaving a cask conditioned Pilsner.
Lucky me it didn't explode 15 litres of Pilsner all over my garage.
I'm enjoying this in the garden with the Sun going down. (I'm very deep SouthEast corner of Kent).

A spectacularly good fruit sour Gose courtesy of the very generous @DocAnna
Oh this is so good… I don’t really ‘do’ sours because they are so often OTT; but this is absolutely on the money because it is so appropriate to the flavours. Fresh zingy clemantine, sweet/sour passion fruit and (my favourite bit) a slightly salty finish.
Yum!

Sorry, posting a round behind.
1st two were chill hazed Pilsner.
SWMBO'd doesn't like hazy beers so after two sips passed it on to me.
2nd one is from the smaller cubitainer that also had the presumptive tertiary fermentation, so poured without glugging back air.
Also has a little head and a few conditioning bubbles.
Shows the same rich to dry flavour profile change.
Nothing 'off', so that's a result. 🍻

Happy Friday everyone🍻
Busy day in brew central today. LAB entries bottled up and in the post, and the water collected for tomorrows Pliny The Melter brew. I can’t be arsed doing the salt additions tonight, I’ve had several pints of Irish Red while BBQing. Now it’s Märzen time.

For the broader audience, the definition of ‘melter’ can be found here. I’m thinking of compiling a big list of potential beer names inspired by my favourite Norn Irish colloquiums.
