I’ve had enough of work today and I’m having an early beer, as about to start prepping tea for tonight.
This is my first full half of my Kolsch that unfortunately got to 1.000 FG, so ended up at 6% rather than 4.7% as intended. Doesn't taste that dry though.
It is 5 weeks and 3 days old today, but as you can see it is still extremely cloudy and I don’t think it’s going to get much clearer. The sulphur is on it’s way out though and it’s nice and fruity, plus the carbonation is spot on. There aren’t any major off-flavours in this one that I can detect, as opposed to my last one that tasted like over-boiled carrots
It’s a little more bitter than what I would have liked, due to the very low gravity throwing off the balance. Becoming drinkable though and the lager hating husband is a fan of it (I realise it’s a half-breed lol). Anyway that’s enough rambling from me, I better get on with some stuff! Bottoms up friends!
