I’ve got 10 mates and there better halves coming round on Sunday for a big wood fired steak and home brew extravaganza. Thought I’d better ‘quality control’ the house red for the night. It’s rather nice.
I’m giving in - it is a Friday after all and I’m working in the hospital all day Sunday … so this is allowed I think. A glass of chilled and smooth Kristoff ☺My motto is - five days a week on a diet is better than zero lol

Showing the kids the delights of the mumbles and the gower today.
Great day out. Started with a punk ipa at lunch. Haven't had it on tap for a few years and it wasn't bad. I know it gets bad press but it went down well.
Finished off with a Gower brewery, lighthouse lager. A lovely pint from one of their pubs, rake and riddle @dad_of_jon will know it well.

This is one from a box I got for my birthday last weekend from my mother in law.
From a local Meadery in the Wye valley, their honey Citra IPA.
Very tasty Citra smash with subtle honey after taste.

First, a Pint of Ind Coope Double Diamond from Wheeler's Euro book. Went into the cornie star bright due to being in the primary for ages. Now cloudy as f**k. Nice though.
Now a pint of Lovibond XB. Went in clear, been conditioning for 84 days. Tastes absolutely fantastic. Cloudy as f**k.
I just cannot produce clear beer from cornie kegs. Period.

Building up the strength with a westmalle Trappist tripple. Boozy at 9.5% but slipping down very nicely listening to the waves
Finishing tonight (probably) with from one of my favourite breweries.
That beetroot salad is making it’s mark, or more accurately, colour. Just thought I’d mention that. (You’re lucky I didn’t post a picture)

Next up, my California Common thingie. Basically, a bog standard Cali Common recipe, but with caramalt for the usual crystal malt portion, and some of the pale swapped out for Munich. All Northern Brewer for hops and CML Kentucky for yeast.
Lovely and fruity. Like Anchor is. But lighter than Anchor Steam, and the hops come through a bit more; quite herby.
Oh, and despite going into the cornie clear as a bell, due to being in the primary for over 7 weeks (wedding!), And over 29 days in the cornie conditioning, including over a week at 3° after it had carbed up to try and clear it, it's .............. Cloudy as f**k.

A beer that will not be seen again as yellowbelly have been taken over by accountants and let their head brewer go so beers like this will never be seen again
Tin can of emotion - they say dipa but at 9.5% I would say tipa the citra aroma and taste from this is full on with mosaic accazia and Columbus. Big bitter mouthfeel and finish. The best kind of beer for me.
