Next up my beer that's going into this month's competition. English golden ale brewed using the leaf hops donated by Anna. Summit and first gold

Lovely looking beer, really looking forward to feedback on this. My only other golden ale was a swap with Dan. His was dry hopped with citra so it's hard to compare

Porters and stouts are my favourites too but I have been trying to educate myself to different styles. This post here lists the recipe posted by another forum member and modified for UK malts.

Edited: UK hops to malts.
I read that thread and notice that Anacou and yourself are experiensed brewers and I can add little in the technical department as it is not my way, I am more practical and do not paint by numbers, more by eperience.
I find Porters and dark beers benefit from longer mashing and boiling times, I can't say why, it's just what I have found.
I will leave you two to get on with the technical joshing.

I value everyones input and experience as I'm definitely not an experienced brewer. I only have a few AG brews under my belt but @An Ankoù is definitely a VERY experienced brewer and had been really helpful with his time and experience with me via forum and personal messages.

Beer + Bounty ❤ any chance you can share the recipe

Sure! Just copied the page from my brew thread.

Essentially the below recipe, scaled back to 10l, with 200g oats and 200g lactose.

This time a coconut stout, scaled back to 10l i've copied this recipe LAB Coconut Porter | Beer Recipe | American Homebrewers Association but i couldn't resist the urge to tinker, I want it with more body than I think this one will give me so i'm adding in 200g oats and some lactose near the end of the boil! Hops remain the same. Dessicated coconut will be added after high fermentation ends (roughly 7 days) and then left for a further 2 weeks. Yeast will be good o'l us05 again.

Bookmarked 👍 Sounds like my kind of drink.
