My home-brewed stocks are almost at zero after having to pour a few batches down the drain, so some shop bought firsts for me.

Nice line up
Was in Asda earlier and picked up some vocation life and death and noticed the brew dog elvis juice was down in abv to 5.1% it used to be 6.2% if I recall ??

just reread the post and seen you had to pour beer out. So sorry for your loss.

That’s a shame, do you know what went wrong?
I believe that one batch was infected after I had to put my arm inside the fermenter several times to try and tighten the tap as it was leaking. Stupidly washed my arm with ordinary liquid soap !!.

The other was the last kit a made before moving to all grain a Czech pilsner that has an extremely dry after taste almost verging on white wine/vinegar.

Just waiting for the northern brown ale that is currently fermenting now.

I've never tried the brew dog Elvis juice. If the reviews on the Asda website are anything to go by, I might give it a miss ?

The only one I couldn't get in Asda was the Fuller's black cab stout. Was looking forward to trying it.

Got my fingers crossed for you! 🤞 Maybe before putting any more beers in that fermenter give it a soak in bleach? This should make sure anything still there is killed off. Obviously give it a really good rinse with cold water after.

used to be a decent enough brew and I enjoyed a few cans every so often but it has gone (thanks google) from 6.5% to 5.1% so now it’s no longer in the running with life and death for the same price.

Elvis juice definitely 6 point something when I ordered a brewdog bundle a couple of months ago. Oddly the packaging was for the US market - all in US fl ozs etc

Yep I did a quick google and it was 6.5% then seen the 440ml cans today and noticed 5.1% thought it was maybe just the big cans bus same on the small ones. Another beer bites the dust to the beancrunchers

One of the things I looked forward to in retirement was being able to sit in the garden on a nice sunny day with a beer rather than a phone, a computer, and a mountain of work.

Mission accomplished! 🥳

As well as to my mind oddly a plethora of Sam Smiths outlets also a few Shepher Neame outlets in the environs of Smithfield Market. Sadly for me the phone and computer beckon so no time to drop in the Bishops Finger or the Hoop and grapes on this occasion.

Yes, will do. Just using my other fermenter with no tap for the latest brew. Less to go wrong !
