Beerhawk advent calendar day 1: Barden from Thornbridge a very good and drinkable English ale

Another from my visit to Hook Norton brewery, Red Rye.
5 malts ; Pale, Crystal, Crystal Rye,Enzymic and Wheat.
5 hops ; Williamette, Sovereign, Citra, Amarillo, Chinook

I've been really impressed with all their beers, this is a lovely fruity red ale but with a citrusy bitterness and aroma.

Hook Norton is just down the road from me. This looks like one I'm going to have to make a trip for!

Well worth the trip, just to see the beautiful building itself.
The shop is well stocked and very reasonable. You can get a minipin ( 18 pints ) for around £ 30 -£ 35 which is a bargain.
Good choice of bottles too, I recommend the Flagship IPA !

Started off with a Muntons Flagship APA. It's getting better with each bottle but I can still taste that homebrew taste I always get from the FILs beers. He only makes extract beers, not AG.

Still, it looks the part... Onto a Chimay Tripel to sip whilst I wait for the wife woman to get back from her Christmas do. I'm on guard duty until then.
