Just had a couple of Green Hop beers at the Iron Pier green hop festival
Cascade green hop from No Frills Joe is tasting nice and fresh

First beer of the day @dave_77 IPA. Only landed today so it's fresh
Carbonation is spot on, orange with a soft white head.
Nice fruit aroma, berry and Melon. Good firm bitterness but very soft. Not getting the usual taste I would expect from the citra and Simcoe.

Really enjoyable beer it didn't last long

Starting tonight with a Marston's Empire IPA.

This is a nice beer. I don't usually get excited about "traditional" IPAs that are given a "modern twist" with American hops, but the cascade in this is toned down and it's a case of less is more.

Would love to try brewing something like this.

My own NeIpa Marmalade ipa, jar of marmalade and 100g of sweet oj peel added to the boil. Came in around 7.2% Abv !
Not many left was brewed in August

On to my own Falconer's flight IPA. This is young probably 6 days in the keg. Showing good promise, nice flavour but lacking a bit on aroma. I split the normal Dry hop and added half (60g) as a keg hop.

Had this a pre tea drink, now it's a pretty tasty stout with a strong nutty flavour but it's just a bit too thin and watery for me.

Next up moonraker from JW Lee’s green gate brewery Middleton Manchester, if you ever see this in a shop or supermarket buy it, it is a corker of a beer up there with the best and better than most strong ales

This is my Belgian single brewed with WLP550. First time using the yeast, I am very impressed. I don't get the usual Belgian spice but it seems more fruity.

a Scottish/Belgian ale, I found the recipe when I was looking for a golden ale earlier in the year more Belgian than I hoped with m41 yeast !
It had won a local camra competition.
It turned out good and around 7.8%abv with 500g of clear Belgian candi sugar.
