After a couple of dry evenings it’s time for a beer or two. First up, a Schwarzbier that was brewed in Essex. Malty and smooth. I thought there was a touch of dark grain astringency on first sip but thats dis appeared on further drinking. The other customers on Beers of Europe have given it and average 3/5 stars, and that’s a pretty fair reflection in my book.

Another 2 from Lidl. These are part of the standard range. Around £1.29 a can i think. however imho a waste of money.
Tasteless and watery. Oh well.

Second up, a NEIPA from a recent Beer52 box. Thinks this is the first time I’ve had Eukanot in a beer, it’s pretty interesting. Getting a lot of citrus aroma, but the flavour is really complex. It’s a mix of green apple, lime and stone fruits all in one go. I like it a lot.

My first partial mash. Kinda Belgian with coriander etc. Too young but totally amazing. Chocolate, spicy and bloody strong. Reckon it'll be awesome at Christmas to floor people

Just back from an 11 hour round trip to Somerset with a 3 hour stop-over for lunch and meet-up with friends. Had one of these while I was there and quite enjoyed it.

I need a new Belgian yeast my last wyeast 1214 just got retired. Any suggestions, geterbrewed don't supply the Ardennes strain

3944 was my latest choice (that’s what the blond and wit are fermented with) but bloody hell is it slow! Fermented warm and still took 12 days to finish

if you can find it, the Forbidden Fruit seasonal vault strain is a real show stopper. Works beautifully in any Belgian beer, the Tripel was with that strain (pretty sure it’s one of the Hoegaarden yeasts)

Edit- it was actually 1214 (Chimay), the Tripel I made last year was with forbidden fruit

I like WLP510 too. More subtle than Ardennes

1214 is slow to start. Freaked me out the first time

Found these at 9.99 for 6 so thought why not. The east coast ipa is nothing like any east coast ipa I have ever had before but it’s drinkable so far.

Brewed In muff canned in Wexford lol. The citra dry hop was all leaf hops as far as I remember it’s very nice

Work in the morning so only having 3 of them. Now that I’m drinking them I’m wondering why I’m drinking them
