Couple more of the Belgian beers from my subscription while I bottle and brew.

Stout is described as a dry Irish stout, very roasty I enjoyed it. IPA was fairly standard with a little bit of Belgian yeast character, nice easy drinking.

Tasted a bit of my Leffe clone when bottling, it wasnt bad, on the right area, maybe not as sweet as the real thing but tasted odd without carbonation so difficult to judge yet

I’m starting tonight with a pale ale from @phildo79 It’s 5.6% and hopped with El Dorado & Idaho 7.

The beer is well carbonated despite not forming a large head, is a golden amber colour and is almost clear with just a touch of haze. There was quite a bit of sediment in the bottle so it’s quite possible a wisp got into the glass through me trying to maximise the pour!

The aroma is quite hoppy, bready malt, and a barely noticeable hint of something maybe like pear-drops?

The flavour is in fact more resinous than fruity but there is fruit there too. The bitterness is quite soft and builds to the end with a nice dry finish.

A good start to the week-end, thank you!

Started with my DIPA and now on this citra ipa from Buxton.
I think I paid £2 which is about right. Nice enough but lacking that citra punch and more pale all than ipa

Wow, I thought you would have drank that ages ago. Thanks for the kind review. Seems like a long time ago that I made that beer. I felt the beer turned out ok. Perfectly drinkable but lacked the punch I was hoping for.

Got a bit of a stash while on a site visit Manchester way, from an Asda and home bargains. I do find that Asda do a fair job of having localish ales in stock. However, first up is a bottle of Deuchars IPA from home bargains. It's quite nice. Anyone know of a good clone recipe?

Edit - Ignore that, it's in Wheeler's under Caledonian in the index rather than Deuchars. Obviously. Bit of a senior moment 😀

I should have had it by now but I managed to “misfile” it among some others I was conditioning, sorry!

The review might have been longer but it was my first beer of the night and I was thirsty! 😂

Session IPA from my favourite local craft brewer, Farmageddon. 4.8% and 53 IBU, so right in the sweet spot for me (although, that's maybe because I've drank so much of it over the last few years that my palate has adjusted to they're style).
The label is very informative; stout malt, wheat malt, carapils and oats in the grain bill. Simcoe for bittering, galaxy and citra for aroma, galaxy dry hop. Quantities are obviously a trade secret.
Annoyingly, one of the nurses I work with is good friends with one of the brewers but theres absolutely no way I can get a tour of the brewery, I've asked many times.

Next on my list for tonight, a pale ale from @samale This is a 5% pale hopped using Citra and mosaic.

Another nicely carbonated beer and a beautiful golden yellow colour. Again, just a touch of haze.

The aroma is citra and cascade as you might expect. Not a lot of malt coming through but the beer is quite cold.

The flavour is nice, the hops come through and there’s quite an assertive bitterness, not excessive. The finish is quite dry too so I’d have guessed the water profile was sulphate rich?

I like this ale @samale it might be my favourite of your ales (apart from the Summer Breeze of course! 😉 ).

Thank you!

A dunkel for a change. Don't think I have had one since my last visit to Germany. Not bad, prefer a but more esters. Think I will add a dunkel the brew list.
