Next up (fairly sure I've made a mess of the calendar numbers somewhere) is Pompelmocello. A juicy grapefruit sour Ipa. I generally love or hate sours.... This one gets the treatment. A shame, I was looking forward to it having loved their rhubarb and custard sour I bought in spring.

Beer from the local brewery in st agnes, a pretty decent porter, the pub it serves is a great pub so I went down to the brewery on Tuesday and picked up a few to support my local (ish).

Next up @dave_77 Belgian pale ale.
Pours a golden straw colour, excellent clarity with a really good carbonation
Aroma I am getting very light sweetness like honey with a little spice.
Taste wise it's very well balanced with mild bitterness. Again it's got some sweetness and light spice
Overall this is a very good beer, very different to the one I sent you. I would be very interested in seeing your recipe. Not sure what hops or yeast you used.

To be honest I'm not a big whisky drinker either, but every now and then it's a nice finisher.

I wish I had both together now! I by far prefer the label on yours - beautiful and classic. The label on mine is a bit like those garish brightly coloured trainers

Had our honeymoon on Skye, nice trip round the talisker distillery and always have a bottle hanging around.

Today's advent beer is a 8% tripel with coriander and bergamot from a brewery in Italy
Thankfully the spices are very restrained and the Belgian character is quite mild - still quite hard work after last night's festivities.
