my imperial red ale has been in the PB on the heatpad for a week. rude not to have a taste. carbonation has certainly been achieved. it's not outstanding but very drinkable and may improve. the 10.5% does give one a certain glow.

Just had some bitters while watching Liverpool demolish Palace, the big red bus just keeps going athumb..

First decent thing coming out of Covid, not having to watch that. I am Merseyside born and bred but having lived in and around Crystal Palace most of my grown up life my allegiances have shifted and so now me and kids have season tix at Selhurst.

Sorry, Palace played really well and have a lot of decent players, They were over whelmed by the speed of the break, Fermino and robertson were outstanding today. Klopp show his respect don't know if you noticed but none of the youngsters started today

Yep scoreline didn't tell whole story. If Ayew scores or tees Wilf up in the first half then its 1-1 and very different. Anyway back to "what are you drinking?" Me I'm on my first ever BD clockwork orange - not sure these fruit infused IPAs are really for me. Just waiting for Boris now to find out whether I need to sober up and go out and do the Christmas shopping tonight before he closes everything in London/ SE.

Gun Brewery Brighton Tea Party NEIPA (5.2%)

Its nice, not exceptional but good enough to justify its £2.30 a can (330ml) price tag. Lots of flavour pleasant mouthfeel, just an all round nice beer.

I couldn’t wait anymore, so I helped myself to @Hazelwood Brewery czech pilsner pours a nice live straw yellow. Mostly clear with a hint of haze, it’s still very young and is much clearer than a week ago.

Aroma is a very nice spicy and floral noble hop aroma, it smells really fresh. A hint of fruity esters.

Flavour is a bit sweet and malty, with hints of honey, mouthfeel is effervescent but the saaz kicks in with its unique spiciness and then earthy noble bitter. There is actually a bit of alcohol in there which shouldn’t be surprising considering the attenuation. I think it’s 6.5% maybe it pushes it a tad bit out of style. That is probably where the sweetness up front comes from.

Overall it’s a very nice and flavourful Czech pilsner maybe a tad bit stronger than most but I think that adds to the flavour and makes it standout. The bitterness is also very well balanced with the maltiness so it drinks easy. Nice job on this one and thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it immensely. By the way how did you get m54 to attenuate that much?

Trying out this 5% neipa from Lidl and I am quite surprised with how good it is. It has an odd floral spice thing (cascade?) that sticks out to me but overall this is quite the easy drinker.

I knew you’d cave before it was ready 😂

I think the attenuation is a combination of water profile, mash temp (145F, 62.7C), and the addition of glucose which is very fermentable.

Ran by the bottle shop instead of sitting outside waiting at the barber shop. And I found a couple of gems. A marzen, a Belgian Christmas ale from St Bernardus, and a Trappist brewery in England?? Tynt Meadow. Looking forward to all of these.

Tynt Meadow is great! I managed to wrangle a free crate off them for Instagram services 😅
