It's amazing how many posts are people drinking bought beers.

I enjoy beer, yes I brew my own and am drinking some tonight, (a session pale ale) but I also drink and enjoy commercial beer, which gives me greater variety. Sometimes I want a 8% Baltic Porter or a sour but I don’t particularly want 10-20 litres of it. Also some styles are just pain to make I.e, NEIPAs.

Most members know I started out making wine and don't brew beer as i don't have enough room to make both, SWMBO doesn't drink beer so i decided to concentrate on wine making.

I used to only drink lager back in the day when i first started making wine but having read so many posts about decent shop bought beer i decided to give it a go, i have now tried many of the beers sold by Tesco and ASDA and have never had a lager since, happy days.

If you had given me a bottle/pint of Old Peculier five years ago i would not have drunk it now its one of my go to beers.

Exactly So!
I use them for research -discovering hop combinations thst I might like etc and also to try some beers that I wouldn't or couldn't brew or ones that I like occasionally but don't want 40 pints of.
exactly I’m going to be having my Northern monk v Pilot patrons project deep fried chocolate bar stout for lunch. Would I even like 2 pints of this ? We shall see :beer1:athumb..

Yeah I could manage 2 pints ! But not 10Ltrs ! Amazing caramel chocolate but not cloying stout. I met the Pilot guys at the lcbf last year & they make some amazing beers. Look them up if you can great guys. Cheers people & stay safe my friends acheers.

Tonight will be a bitter sweet event...hospital today for a 6 year review on my hip replacement.
The good news is that it's all stable and doing what it should with no signs of wear.
The slightly worse news is the sacrolitic pain I get as a result of my pelvis moving to where it should be is something they will not touch. Advice is to not be pain killer dependant, which is what I'm already doing and to resume exercise.
Bad news...to go with the above I have to lose around 3.5 stone...I'm just over 16 at the moment so happy days ahead.
Almost forgot... I'll be quaffing a variety of beers and tucking into a home made curry...diet my ****.

My Azacca not quite a smash but not far off followed by my Pelvis Juice and Son of Punkish all new brews in the last few weeks

Sticking to the alcohol instead of painkillers @Clint ? Sounds like a good plan.

I couldn't fancy having to shift 3.5 stone, that sounds like a lifestyle compromise is on the cards. You must get through a few calories doing all that digging and gardening, surely there are ways to enjoy the process?

I also reckon you should up the scoville rating of your curry and sweat it out athumb... Aren't chillies good for the old pain receptors too?

Just had a neon raptor beer. Has a strong TCP taste & is quite off. I’m in shock as this is normally a great brewer ! Chlorine ? I’m not happy ! Luckily I have a back up !

Back to sublime ale. A rather rare treat of Garage v Barrier colab ! Amazing beer if you can find it buy it . Cheers acheers.

To be honest the sacrolitic pain is not constant.....once I get going I'm fine. Some bending is a bit creaky and first thing in the morning, getting up is sore but I can live with it.
Yeah I'm going to have to have a rethink on my lifestyle....but not tonight.
