Very enjoyable.

Just a couple of brewdog punk ipa that I have in the fridge, just bottled my mj pink grapefruit ipa kit,got a couple of kits to choose from for next batch probably be a st.peters ruby red ale never done a st.peters kit yet but heard a lot of good reviews

Stopped in at Aldi on my way back and decided to try their 99p craft beers” all brewed for Aldi so cannot seem to find the actual brewery but a Session pale ale (actually £1.09), Chinook Pale Ale and a Kristallweizen. The Kristallweizen is lively, but tastes not bad for a 99p wheat beer.

I saw those in aldi. Surprised they were still 99p now we have minimum pricing in Wales. They even had some 99p bottles.

Hadn’t realised Wales had bought in minimum pricing, though the one I’m currently drinking is 1.5 units so would still come in at over 50p a unit.

I had some very old (6) years festival bits and pieces, (dont ask why)
so used 3 bags of the malt new English ale yeast and just bittering hops . came out 7.8% very dark ruby red colour. very malty bitter dry taste. but it's very very drinkable.

Some imperial stout made by one of our brewing collective..very nice. I'll get details tomorrow, probably have another and then my usual nip to help me sleep through the good lady's snoring.

Tonight I’m drinking a beer I called “Punky IPA” - based of course on the Brewdog recipe (current).

The first time I made it, it tasted almost exactly like Punk IPA. The second and third time were different to the first but the same as each other. What?

The only thing I knowing did differently was using leaf hops in the boil first time and pellet hops in the two subsequent brews.

Despite all the wisdom that says leaf hops and pellet hops give the same results, I’m not so sure. I already use leaf hops for dry hopping because I’ve convinced myself it matters.

Next time I make this beer I’ll try leaf hops in the boil again and see if I get the beer I want again.

It tastes ok I guess but I know what it should taste like and it’s disappointing as a result. I might tip it and try again, see how I feel after another couple of pints :confused.:

I have the house to myself and didn’t feel like cooking so am having a pint of Amwell Spring Rude not to, and a pizza. The citrus taste is a little stronger than I would prefer however it is rather refreshing. Also plan to try the West Berkshire Brewery Full Circle Holden Ale. And may well round it off with a pint of Loose Cannon Abingdon Bridge. The joy of a good pub just five minutes away on foot.

Young’s Cityscape it’s well it’s not bad, but it is thoroughly mediocre, tastes a bit thin , but nothing that ,ales me think I want another pint of this, basically John Smith for Golden Ales.

I've had a pint of this Sweet Newkie Brown Ale for the last two days running ...

... it has to run out soon but I needed to today because the District Nurse dropped by to change the dressing on my new hip.

Not the best way to spend an afternoon! Standing up while a young lass rips off a plaster the size of a small airfield, from a set of hairy buttocks, that have spent the last ten days growing attached to the plaster! Boy did that pint go down fast!

I have no doubt that next Tuesday it will get even more entertaining. That's when the lass returns to remove the 36 (I will count them when I can see them) fecking clips that is apparently holding the edges of the wound together!

On that occasion I'm planning a few pints of Wilko Hoppy Copper Bitter, with a couple of very stiff whisky chasers!
