"I'd suggest most meat eaters (especially in the 'obesity crisis' hit UK) are far more nutrient deficient then any vegan. Simply because people in the UK dont eat enough fruit and veg.".....

I remember watching a Jamie Oliver series about food in the UK and trying to get the schools to serve better foods and people in general to do the same. One staggering statement he made was that the UK had constipation clinics that so many kids attended....this from crappy diets and not eating fruits and veg. Seems backwards that this happens in a first world nation, and in impoverished 3rd world nations...people might not have large quantities of food, but they have a better balance (and certainly don't waste)

All I ask is that if people choose to eat differently from me their views do not affect my choices, like mine don't affect theirs, and they should respect my choice like I respect theirs. I assume most people feel that way.

I agree, but it's good to have these discussions. My wife is a recovering vegan and is getting flack from one vegan friend!

In the OP i was a but flippant but the quotes below from it really do get my goat, i am fine with people deciding not to eat animals (for whatever reason) but i am not fine with the same people deciding we should all follow, if you want to stop eating animals do it but do it quietly and stop trying to force your views onto those that choose a different path, you may "Want a Vegan world" (see below) but i for one don't i enjoy eating meat and fish and couldn't imagine anything worse.

JOIN THE NEW YEARS REVOLUTION
Since 2014, Veganuary has inspired and supported more than half a million people in 178 countries to try vegan for January - and beyond. We have worked with businesses to drive up vegan food provision in shops and restaurants, and have made veganism more visible and accessible through our work with national and international media.

OUR VISION
Our vision is simple; we want a vegan world. A world without animal farms and slaughterhouses. A world where food production does not decimate forests, pollute rivers and oceans, exacerbate climate change, and drive wild animal populations to extinction.

OUR MISSION
Our mission is to inspire and support people to try vegan, drive corporate change, and create a global mass movement championing compassionate food choices with the aim of ending animal farming, protecting the planet and improving human health.

I don't think we will have to worry about this in our lifetime. We have collectively wanted world peace....so far, no luck....a vegan world?....not as long as there is bacon.

I thinks it's the evangalising that annoys people (the same way religious evangelicals annoy me/people).

Yes and the lion sleeps with the lamb and they all lived happily ever after. Almost makes me want to throw my full breakfast up, but I won't. There are far too many self righteous politically correct, religious idiots who simply mustn't have a life to try and invade or change other people's already decided happy minds. Go and save Mars or something Further away. :beer1:

The first time I saw an overweight vegetarian, I wondered how that was even possible; I only ever thought greens and tofu and things like that.
The answer: Delicious, animal-free donuts! Potatoes and corn, in abundance, will get you there as well.
Yeah, the first time I saw the veggie/vegan choice in our company resto, I also thought it was good to fatten you up.

It's basically a small fan assisted oven there is an element at the top of the unit with a fan above it the combied action helps you to cook fast (no preheat for most things) and with proper browned food unlike what you get using microwave.

It's one kitchen gadget that doesn't live in a cupboard it is use every day here in fact the last time we used the big oven before Christmas day this year was on Christmas day 2018.

If it's a fan assisted oven why is called an air fryer and not and air oven?

I think the term came about because they use so little oil and food fries in an oil mist/vapour.

"The air fryer is essentially an amped-up countertop convection oven. Its compact space facilitates even faster cooking. The top of the unit holds a heating mechanism and a fan. Hot air rushes down and around food placed in a fryer-style basket. This rapid circulation makes the food crisp, much like deep frying. "

Ah I see

We used to have a halogen oven same principle but this is better

We use ours loads. Sweet potato cubes are yummy, as are normal potato cubes, all sorts. I've even some a whole chicken in one before. It came out fantastic, but doesn't make sense for us as we need the oven on for other things if we are doing a Sunday roast so we still bung it in there.

shopping

I have this Easy Bake Oven in the kitchen. It outperforms all other cooking appliances.

I don't get it! Vegetables have feeling's ( Apparently ) but poeple want to eat them even more than ever but don't think for one moment your helping with your carbon foot print because your not lol

If you cut a plant, tree fruit or veg do they not exude sap/juice isn't that their equivalent to blood? - just a thought
