I've been pescatarian for many years and now probably mainly vegan most days.
I did keep Bantams, reared and necked the cockerels for the pot. I also still butcher and cook meat in our restaurant and will happily dispatch and dress fish/lobsters/crab/langoustines and bivalves. I just got bored and turned off from the
taste of beef/lamb/pork as I was eating it most days. But it has always been my own decision. My partner scoffs meat, but won't dispatch any seafood. Personal choice and I respect that. That's why it works,,,
My pet hate is the dietary influencers, with social media peer pressure and many current 'faux' dietary obsessions,,,,
a customer asked 'is your chicken organic?' I said, Yes, it was definitely a carbon life life form, like it was living matter,,, She just looked at me,,,,

I just thought go-on ask me was it happy when it was electrocuted and eviscerated. (I did work in slaughterhouses long ago) My chucks were happy - till I stretched their necks 'cos that's what you have to do in the real world. No chilled plastic trays either. (Rant over
