I bottled some Geordie winter warmer some weeks back. Opened a few at the weekend and some were gushers, some not. I did use the boiled water and cane sugar in the FV after cooling method. Previously, it's been fine. Any ideas what's going on?

50 years!!. Impressive!I always get even carbonation with table sugar, a measuring spoon and a funnel. And have done for 50 years.
If you are saying gushers meaning as soon as the top was off the bottle just about emptied then as mentioned by AA you could have infected bottles.I bottled some Geordie winter warmer some weeks back.
