Having just started this brewing lark  i have lots of newbie asks please, This one concerns the use of the hydrometer correctly.
The kit i purchased as one included makers name Stevenson Reeves Ltd (hydrometer), it's a standard home wine and beer making hydrometer and as useful coloured bands around it.
Question is is it that easy or should i avoid doing certain things while waiting for it to finish correctly
Theres a red band used to show beer start points (mine was within this range) it also as a black line to indicate that its ready to bottle/sugar, do i leave it for a few more days at this mark then keg up and sugar?
So confused and worried i will bugger my first drink up :?
