Trouble with 'pitching' temperature

Hi there,

started a new lager kit last night but really struggled to get the temp down in my FV. I had to go to bed so eventually pitched at 26 degree (instructions said 18-21), anyone know what the impact of this might be?

Which kit was it, and more importantly is it a genuine lager yeast?

If not a lager yeast I wouldn't worry too much, just get the temp down to circa 20 ASAP and it will be fine.

I Wheazy, its a BrewBuddy lager, no idea if it is ale yeast.

Pretty sure that's an ale yeast with that kit. On that basis you are fine, just get it to about 20 degrees and let it work its magic!

Kit would not have advised 20C if not an ale yeast... I pitched an ale yeast starter into 35C beer and it still finished perfectly well.
