Thinking about this our misunderstanding, it's nomenclature.
Water treatment:
Actions to shape your liquor for a certain style of beer.
Nutrient:
Actions to aid the fermentation.
Corrections:
Actions fix a issue. Either with water or finished beer.
And some chemicals/addirives can perform different things at different stages.
