Too high a stable gravity?

Hi guys, I currently have two Coopers Stout tweaks in my FV's which have both been fermenting for two weeks now. Over the last two days the gravity reading of both has been stable at 1.018. I'm quite new to the brewing game but this seems a little high to me, am I right in thinking this? Also could the high stable gravity be due to the amount of fermentables I added? The water in one of the airlocks is almost level so I'm assuming fermentation is almost finished, whereas the other has calmed down significantly. The recipes I used are as follows.

1.7kg Coopers Irish Stout
1.5kg Dark LME
20g Fuggles, 1 Litre Hop Infusion
Kit Yeast and Mangrove Jacks British Ale Yeast
Brewed to 21 Litres
O.G 1.058

1.7kg Coopers Stout
1.5 kg Dark LME
500g Muscovado Sugar
Kit Yeast and Mangrove Jacks British Ale Yeast
Brewed to 20 Litres
O.G 1.066

Thanks in advance

At first glance 1.018 looks high as a FG but plugging you gravity figures in to a calculator give to 5.25%ABV and 6.3%ABV - do you really want a higher ABV%? - I reckon it's done

I wouldn't say I was looking to up the ABV%, just wanted to be certain fermentation was finished prior to bottling to avoid bottle bombs more than anything. Cheers

With the starting gravity at up around 1060 and very little sugars added, a finishing gravity of 1015 is as low as could be expected, so it all sounds good to me.

Great stuff, good to hear that slid will get it bottled tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing how good the Coopers Stout actually is after hearing people rave about it.. Can't wait!
