This was my first Brew Day using my New 80 Litre Shiny!!!! :D

Having read threads and having countless pm's with most of you on here!! :thumb: I chose the drain in the base system of the MT using a Stainless Steel False Bottom (provided by John at H & G)

It was NOT easy drilling through the Stainless Steel.. I am pleased that I took the advice of my learned friends (again!!) on this forum and bought some QMax Hole Cutters..(which were well worth the money!! :)

Hole for the drain fitted :thumb:

I decided I would fit the drain nearer to the edge than in the centre (Like Vossy's) because I thought it would retain more heat and save on copper pipe!! (That's the Yorkshireman in me!!) ;)

When it came to the Sparger..I found my old one off the Cool box was lost...So again I searched through the threads and I saw this one..which I liked ! (Good job there is no Copyright on here..it would cost me a fortune in fees) (My old Sparger is for sale if any one wants to buy it!!)

Here is my new system......Its sits just below the grain when sparging

I hope you have enjoyed my Brewday and my New Shiny MT :

Great pictures, looks like you've made a good job of your new MT

I'll be interested in seeing how this turns out as I've got the TT yeast bubbling away in a demijohn ready to split 3 ways before I use it in a brew.

Great post HWM - great pics, please update with pics when it's ready to sup :drink:

Nice looking shiny

Nice looking brewery HM

Brave man making beer in a room with a carpet . . . I always spill something on the floor during a brew.

Excellent work HM. The mash tun looks fantastic.

I'm assuming that a SS boiler is next on the wish list.

The fb's John makes are well worth the money
Ur right Vossy..cost me £49.50 :)

It's in the integral garage Aleman !! .....Its only an off cut near the door..to stop muck coming into the house the rest of the floor is lino.. ANYWAY ...SWMBO thinks as the Brewery is expanding I should get a BREW SHED!!!!

Yep...that's definately on the agenda Dunfie...but not until this time next year :)

Thanks Guys for the compliments..just hope the beer works out as good

Fill the area around the copper pipe with expanding foam or loft insulation, once you're happy the seals are good. Then you won't have to worry about heat loss :thumb:
