Those bloody Grainfather silicone seals

This morning I left the bottom screen and seal in the freezer put the basket in the strike water and used sanitiser . It worked better but still couple of attempts to get it seated right . The joys of brewing


Why in the freezer?

😱😱 If its that tight, an angle grinder would be a better bet.
I recently found out sandpaper works well on plate steel. I smoothed the corners out of some plate steel a few years ago with my belt sander. It'd do a nice job of the grainfather plates, which are very similar thickness
