We were mopping up after the deluge, I was looking for some pics and came across these in my album from last year, this is the River Leven which drains Windermere :!:
First is the normal sort of floodwater going through, note the stop sign :idea:
within the hour, again check the height its risen in relation to the sign :idea:
less than half an hour later :!:

Personally we're OK we live 'above' the floodplane on a hill, but some are still trying to get back into their homes even a year later
